The Games Barn is a self catering holiday home in a converted farm building in East Sussex. Perfect for family gatherings, it is able to accommodate up to 8 people in its four bedrooms. This single-storey property has a level interior and excellent accessibility features, making it ideal for wheelchair users and those with reduced mobility.
The Games Barn has ramped access and the main doors (front and back) are double size patio doors which open fully. Please note there is a slight threshold on these doors (approx. 2 inches) and a portable ramp can be provided if needed.
Inside there is a comfortable lounge with Freeview TV. The kitchen/dining room is a standard size and does not have low work tops for wheelchair users. However, a microwave oven, kettle etc can be provided at a low level on request. All power points in all rooms are approximately 2 feet from the floor and the furniture can be easily rearranged to accommodate specific needs.
The Barn has two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one of which is a spacious, accessible wet room. It has a roll-in shower with fixed shower chair and grab rails, wheel-under washbasin and WC with fixed drop down grab rails.
Outside, directly adjacent to The Games Barn there is ample secure parking including a designated disabled space.
There is wi-fi throughout the Barn.
The Games Barn is located on the edge of the beautiful ancient village of Mayfield in an extremely quiet location on a working farm in the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The farm has a small number of animals including sheep, pigs, cows, chickens and ducks. The grounds also include a stream with a weir, a wildlife pond and an ancient woodland.
The peaceful setting is ideal for those wanting to get away from it all in the middle of the countryside, but is just 2km from pubs, restaurants, shops etc. The excellent beaches of the south coast are all easily accessible and Ashdown Forest with its wonderful walks and cycle tracks is just 10 minutes away.
Farm produce can be bought including eggs, pork, bacon, ham, sausages, beef and lamb.
