Braunton Accessible Bungalow is just a few minutes drive from the beach in Saunton, Devon and sleeps 4 guests comfortably, with an additional sofa bed that sleeps up to 2. This single-storey property has level access/interior and has been thoughtfully designed with wheelchair users and those with reduced mobility in mind.
The spacious open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area is perfect for relaxing and entertaining. In the living area, you’ll find a corner sofa (sofa bed), an electric riser chair, a wall-mounted smart TV on an extendable bracket arm and a dining table with free-standing seating.
The modern fully-equipped accessible kitchen features a tuck-away oven, dishwasher, height adjustable sink, height adjustable hob, remote-controlled extractor fan, an easy-pour kettle and a breakfast bar with 2 easy access sockets.
Outside, you’ll also find a laundry shed with a washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, and an iron and ironing board.
Sliding doors from the living area open up onto a decking area which leads onto the patio and wheelchair-accessible picnic table. The attractive garden wraps right around the property and is fully enclosed.
The property has 2 bedrooms; one master bedroom with an ensuite wet room, and a twin bedroom.
The single beds in the twin bedroom are electrically adjustable (non-profiling) using a wired handset.
The master bed features a Tempur Adjustable Massage bed (non-profiling). This bed is king size and is independently adjustable on either side using wireless remote controls. There is a tracking ceiling hoist that runs from the master bedroom into the ensuite wetroom.
In the ensuite wetroom, you’ll find a shower, WC with rails (with seat raiser available), shower seat, a tilt-in-space chair with commode, and a stool. There is also a family bathroom with an accessible walk-in bath.
The bungalow is dog-friendly (with no limit on number of dogs).
The accessible bungalow is situated just 3 minutes’ drive from Saunton Sands Beach. All-terrain Landeez wheelchairs are available to hire from the Beach Shop, pre-booking is essential. It is also within walking distance of Braunton village centre and on the main bus route which serves all of the local coastal areas, including Saunton, Croyde, and in the opposite direction Westward Ho!
