This June The Sandcastle Trust hosted a virtual ‘Bake your Own’ Platinum Jubilee Family Afternoon Tea to help the rare genetic condition community come together to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee whilst creating some fun family memories! The Sandcastle Trust arranged for 192 families to receive a box containing everything they needed to bake lots of yummy treats together and throw a family Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea, including Union Jack tableware and bunting! Unfortunately we were hugely let down by a supplier and many of the boxes we had purchased were missing items. However, families living with a rare genetic condition are a resourceful, resilient bunch and managed to bake up a storm and have lots of fun regardless!
