Sandcastle Scoops is raising money to help The Sandcastle Trust fund a new wheelchair-accessible holiday caravan on the South Coast — a much-needed addition to our existing caravans in North Wales and Lincolnshire.

Ice cream is so often associated with being away on a summer holiday — relaxing and enjoying time together with loved ones. But for many families across the UK living with a rare genetic condition, this just isn’t possible.

The families we support are juggling additional caring responsibilities, bereavement, long-term illness, isolation, mental health challenges, and financial pressures.

The free family respite breaks we provide in our accessible caravans are a lifeline: they offer families the time and space to rest, recharge, and reconnect. However, demand is huge and growing fast, driven by the rising cost of living and the fact that truly accessible holiday accommodation remains scarce — and often comes with a much higher price tag.
