The Burrow at Sandhole Cottages

Description

The Burrow is a wheelchair-accessible cottage partially burrowed into the grounds of Sandhole Farm.  It is one of four luxury converted Grade 2 listed barns, each with its own private hot-tub situated at Sandhole Farm and Livery in the Cheshire countryside.

The Burrow comfortably sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, but an additional single bed can be provided on request.

Specifically designed with wheelchair access in mind, The Burrow has ramped access, level interior and a ground-floor bedroom with en-suite accessible wet-room.

Downstairs there is a spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen space.  The bespoke handmade kitchen is equipped with a cooker, microwave, dishwasher plus everything you’ll need to cook up a feast. Alongside the kitchen is an open plan seating and dining area with wall-mounted TV leading out onto your own private, level patio with outdoor dining table table and chairs and a private hot-tub.

The Burrow’s accessible ground-floor king-size bedroom has a double-height ceiling, ‘Swallows Nest’ mezzanine, wall-mounted TV, and doors leading onto a communal grassed area. The beautifully designed en-suite wet-room has a step-free shower with fixed grab-rails, shower chair, comfort height toilet with grab rails and a wheel-under washbasin.

The Burrow’s second bedroom is tucked away in the eaves.  It can be made up as a king-size or twin bedroom and has a wall-mounted TV, luxury en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle, washbasin and WC.

An allocated parking space is situated close to the cottage and a level hard-standing path leads to the front door (ramp access available).  An EV Charging Point is also available.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Burrow and guests can also bring their horses on holiday as stables and paddocks for up to four horses are available at Sandhole Livery.

Sandhole Farm is set in the rural Cheshire countryside but is just a short drive from the vibrant cities of Manchester and Liverpool, and only twenty minutes from the Roman City of Chester. Guests can enjoy numerous local attractions and activities including Marbury Park, Blakemere Village, Chester Zoo, Blue Planet Aquarium, and the Cheshire Ice-Cream Farm.

Reviews
“The Burrow is like a welcome hug…the way in which you have designed the space is so clever and the attention to detail gives it that homely feel.”
“The Burrow is beautiful. It’s nice to stay somewhere where the fine balance of accessibility and normality has been achieved….entrance to the property was great and as it’s compact it was easy to get around. The wet room was great, the grab rails were in the right place and would help those who can stand with some assistance. The bed was a good height with enough space to turn in a wheelchair. The outdoor area was a lovely suntrap and the access was perfect”
“Beautiful cottage, well equipped and just perfect for a relaxing time away. As a wheelchair user the cottage was great for access and a lovely large wet room was very helpful. Being greeted by a visiting horse at the fence each morning and evening was lovely. Thanks for a great stay!”
