The cottage boasts a stunning open-plan living area with bi-fold doors that open directly onto a private garden. The living room is furnished with sofas, Smart TV and riser/recliner chair. The kitchen is fully equipped and features a lowered worksurface to accommodate wheelchair users. A dining table with seating for six guests completes the space.
There is an accessible bedroom that can be configured with twin or king-size profiling beds, and a ceiling hoist that connects directly to a spacious en-suite wet room. The wet room is equipped with an accessible bath, step-free shower, drop-down and fixed grab rails, a wall-mounted shower seat, a riser/recliner chair, and a wheel-under washbasin. It also includes hoist facilities, a static shower stool, an adult-sized fold-down changing table, and emergency pull-cords.
In addition to the accessible bedroom, Chestnut Cottage offers two more bedrooms that can be arranged as twin or king-size rooms, along with a family bathroom featuring a spacious walk-in shower. A utility room provides laundry facilities and storage space for a wheelchair.
Outside, the private garden includes a level patio with outdoor dining furniture for six and a BBQ, all set on a hard-standing drive with private parking and an EV charging station. The cottage is also dog-friendly.
Located near a chestnut tree at the entrance to The Olde House Farm Cottages, Chestnut Cottage is part of a 550-acre working family farm, just a short distance from the picturesque fishing villages of Padstow and Port Isaac in Cornwall. The farm features 34 cottages accommodating between 2 and 8+ guests, including a second accessible property for up to 4 guests.
Guests at The Olde House can enjoy access to an indoor pool and spa, a comfortable lounge area, and a games room. For younger visitors, there’s an indoor playbarn, outdoor adventure playground, tractor rides, pets corner, woodland fun area, and a variety of free family activities. The playbarn, pool area, bird hide, and pets corner are all wheelchair-accessible. Additionally, the farm offers outdoor tennis courts and a two-mile Farm Trail through the scenic farmland and the convenient ‘Amble Farm Shop,’ is an on-site honesty shop offering home-reared meat, essential items, and a selection of local treats. The ‘Penpont Store’ provides a range of items for guests to borrow, including beach or pool toys, wellies, waterproofs, garden games, and dog-friendly equipment.
