The Wheelabout is a spacious, sunny house with a warm swimming pool that was purpose built for families with children with a physical disability. The house is ideal for large family groups and stands in its own grounds on the Ridgeway just outside Tenby with magnificent views sea views over the Gower and Caldey Island.  The house has its own spacious grounds, the garden has been landscaped for wheelchair use and there is plenty of room for children to play.

The ground floor accommodation includes a large fully equipped kitchen/dining room. One of the working units in the kitchen is adjustable for height. There is also a useful utility room that contains a washing machine and dryer.  On this level is the family bathroom, a wheel in shower room and two bedrooms, one with two single beds and bunkbeds, the other with two single beds.

The wheelchair lift gives access to the first floor where there is a large, light-filled lounge with a balcony. Also on this floor you will find an accessible bedroom with a profiling bed with cot sides and carer’s bed and an accessible bathroom containing an overhead hoist, Kingcraft hydraulic bath and adjustable sink.  There is also an additional bedroom which has a double bed and en-suite shower room.

Other equipment available includes floor sitters, a mobile hoist, shower/ toiletting chairs, table/easel, spider chair and Tripp Trapp chair and high chair.

This property also boasts a small, heated indoor swimming pool; it has a hoist for pool entry and a changing room with an adjustable changing table.

The walled town of Tenby is a mile from the house and the major Pembrokeshire family tourist attractions are a short drive away.

The Wheelabout is owned by the Harriet Davis Trust. The accommodation is intended primarily for families with children, but the Harriet Davis Trust is happy to permit use by disabled adults if it is not otherwise required.
