Our Sandcastle Memories programme provides bespoke family respite opportunities to families living with a rare genetic condition. The programme gives affected families the opportunity to spend quality time together away from their daily routine to refresh and re-energise so that they are able to cope with the emotional and physical rigor of caring in the long-term and support their emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Families affected by a rare genetic condition can apply for respite in the form of a short UK break, an annual attraction pass or a special day trip. The Sandcastle Trust works directly with applicant families to determine what package of family respite (Sandcastle Memory) is right for them.
Be it a canal boat holiday, London theatre break, supported accessible adventure break, forest lodge holiday, country cottage break or a theme park, zoo or National Trust annual pass there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Each family’s Sandcastle Memory will be completely tailored to your individual family’s needs, location and interests.
If you would like to apply to our Sandcastle Memories Respite programme for a short break, annual attraction pass or special day trip please make sure you meet our eligibility criteria and then register as a Sandcastle Family. Once you are registered we will send you an application form.
We also run ad-hoc events throughout the year providing family respite opportunities, for example our Sandcastle Santa campaign. Registered families will be updated about these via email.
